Responsibilities
Tasks
-
Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick
-
Drive well services truck to well site
-
Attach pumps and hoses to wellhead
-
Operate and maintain drilling mud systems and pumps
-
Write daily basic progress reports
-
Operate hydraulic pumping systems
-
Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment
-
Read gauges to interpret conditions and adjust pumping procedure
-
Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs
-
Mix chemicals and cements
-
Use specialized equipment to determine the location of buried pipelines and other utilities in preparation for seismic exploration and drilling activities
