We are looking for one person to join our team at the Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism working with one specific individual.
This position involves working the following shifts:
* Monday, 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM
* Wednesday, 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM
* Friday, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
This position will involve working with an adult with autism spectrum disorder. He has a tailor-made program geared toward his individuals goals, and our staff works with him toward achieving his goals, while keeping in mind his individual personal care plan and behaviour plan. Swim therapy a very important part of his program, as our staff is in the water with him.
*This is not a desk job.* You will work directly with him and take part in his activities with him.
This is a part-time position with only 13 hours available, so may be ideal for a student or someone with another job or limited availability. You will have the opportunity to work relief shifts if available, but there is no guarantee. As mentioned in the job posting, this position does require swimming and is set hours. We are a community inclusion program not a residential program so we do not have weekend or night shifts available.
Benefits and pay range:
* The position starts at $24.34. The wage scale will be discussed in the interview. The wage will increase upon completion of the probationary period.
* Benefits are available to staff who regularly work 24 or more hours a week upon successful completion of the probation period. There are no benefits with this position.
* There are reimbursements for mileage, difference of insurance, and petty cash transactions. Exact details will be discussed in the interview.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* To work in a one-to-one setting with an autistic adult with an individual goal plan and take an active role in their activities.
* To at all times preserve the confidentiality of the person in the program.
* To transport yourself in your vehicle to their activities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Preference will be given to individuals who have worked with autistic adults.
* Must be able to pass a Criminal Records Check (vulnerable sector).
* Valid First Aid
* 19 years or older.
* Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to transport yourself.
This particular position does not involve transporting the individual you are working with, but if you are interested in working relief with other individuals, our other positions do require transportation of individuals being worked with. You will need to be able to transport yourself to and from the individual's activities.

* This position has three specific shifts: Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Are you available to work those specific times?
