*Logistics Coordinator*
Overview:
*The* *Logistics Coordinator *you will support the business by handling transportation and logistics aspects of our product orders ensuring regulatory compliance and contractual obligations are met.
*Responsibilities*
* Engage in direct communications with JASCO?s equipment and project teams to determine shipping and receiving requirements
* Preparation of Export Permits in accordance with Global Affairs Canada requirements
* Recommend optimal transportation modes, analyzing the financial and scheduling impacts of these recommendations
* Prepare all required shipping and receiving documentation to ensure timely delivery and compliance with all pertinent regulations including but not limited to USMCA/Commercial Invoices, Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS), Proformas
* Ensure compliance of export documentation with the regulations and laws of all the countries where our products are delivered
* Review import and export procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with legal regulations and internal corporate guidelines
* Perform rate negotiations with carriers, freight forwarders and brokers to ensure the highest level of services is achieved
* Maintain policies and procedures for logistics activities
* Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics, import or export, or customer issues concerning these
* Perform all other duties as required
*Required Qualifications and Experience*
* Ability to prepare shipping documents including Customs/Commercial Invoices; bills of lading, Manifests or Cargo Control documents, Import/Export Declarations, Certificates of Origin
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment
* Must have ability to interpret government regulations and analyze against technical specifications of a product or technology
* Understanding of Logistics and procurement
* Solid computer skills including MS Office suite
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as superior interpersonal skills
* Keen attention to detail
* Ability to work in a team environment maintaining focus on work quality
* Willingness and ability to learn
* Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
* Strong work ethic, dedicated to getting the job done
* Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Canadian Resident, or have a Valid Canadian Work Permit and have been in Canada for a minimum of 10 years
* Able to acquire a government security clearance
*Desirable Qualifications*
* Previous experience in international shipping and shipping documentation (Brokerage and Freight Forwarding) and corresponding with customs brokerage agencies
* Working knowledge of Canadian Customs and other federal laws and regulations
* Understanding of Incoterms and Harmonized Tariff Schedule
* Experience with inventory and tracking systems
* Dangerous good shipping certification
* WHMIS certification
* Experience with Industrial Health, Safety and Environment programs
* Current Forklift Certification and Drivers license desired
*Education*
Diploma in Material or Supply Chain Management (desired) or equivalent work experience
