*CAREER OPPORTUNITY:* *BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST* *ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)* The UGDSB employs a team of approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, and the City of Guelph. Our employees are empowered to contribute in meaningful ways to the success of our students and the greater organization. *THE OPPORTUNITY* The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a *permanent full-time* opportunity in the capacity *Business Systems Analyst.* This is a 12-month position to commence as soon as possible. Reporting to the Manager of Application Development, the *Business Systems Analyst *plays a critical role in design, development, improvement and implementation of processes and solutions for UGDSB. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into feasible software solutions, supporting the effective use of technology and information systems to enhance the experiences and outcomes of staff and ultimately support student success. *LOCATION: *Guelph Board Office (500 Victoria Road N, Guelph, ON) *HOURLY RATE: *Base Hourly rate*: *$31.72 to $38.90 per hour; wage rate effective September 1, 2024 \*Labour market adjustment of 29% to be applied to base hourly rate; hourly rate inclusive of market adjustment is $40.92 to $50.18 per hour \*labour market adjustment may fluctuate based on local market. *FTE/HOURS: *1.0 FTE (35 hours per week) *BOARD INFORMATION: *12-month position; Permanent full-time; OCT Union *Responsibilities:* Responsibilities include but are not limited to tasks and duties under the following areas: * Business Analysis and Solution Development * Project Coordination * Service Management * Support for the organization and external vendors *Experience and Qualifications:* * Post Secondary Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Analyst, Information Technology, or another related field; or a combination of education and / or experience deemed equivalent by the Board * Post Secondary Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred * 5+ years of related experience, including project coordination or management experience required * Proficiency in Security, .Net Framework, C#, ASP.NET MVC, API, Git, SSO, T-SQL, JavaScript, Vue, HTML and CSS * PMI and Microsoft MCSD Certifications are preferred * Knowledge of service management, business analysis, process mapping and documentation and project management, particularly as applied to technology systems implementation * Solid understanding of software architecture, Object Oriented Programming, and design patterns to solve complicated business requirements * Solid understanding of the software development life cycle, agile, and other software development methodologies * Strong hands-on software development with .Net, C#, MVC, API and T-SQL which provides intuitive user experiences * Ability to maintain, research and upgrade knowledge of new technologies such as cloud computing, AI, DevOp and Mobile * Knowledge of information and document management, including developing and delivering end-user documentation * Understanding of related regulatory requirements such as privacy, security, and web accessibility * Strong organizational, problem solving, customer service and analytical skills * Excellent oral and written c- LocationGuelph, ON
