Sr Accountant- Tax
Job Summary:
The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory services for clients. This role involves complex tax return preparation, tax planning, and conducting research on tax issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Conduct tax research and provide clients with strategic tax planning and advisory services.
- Manage multiple client engagements and deliver high-quality services in a timely manner.
- Analyze financial information and identify potential tax issues and opportunities for tax savings.
- Stay current with tax law changes and inform clients of relevant updates.
- Assist in resolving tax notices and audits by federal, state, and local tax authorities.
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent customer service and communication.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, demonstrating expertise and value-added insights.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, provincial, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
