Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work setting: Retail business. Urban area. Wholesale establishment/store. Tasks: Conduct performance reviews. Organize and maintain inventory. Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.). Supervise office and volunteer staff. Sell merchandise. Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters. Establish work schedules. Authorize payments by cheque. Assign sales workers to duties. Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Hire and train or arrange for training of staff. Exhibit designers plan and develop permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces and other exhibitions. Supervision: 3-4 people. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus.
