Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Commercial aviation. Aircraft testing. Work setting: Rural area. Staff accommodation provided. Remote location. Tasks: Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicopters. Monitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flight. Perform post-flight inspections. Test new aircraft to evaluate performance. Co-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flights. Conduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flights. Conduct pre-flight inspection of aircraft and check passenger and cargo distribution to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met. Maintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctions. Prepare flight evaluation reports. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Airline Pilot Transport Licence - fixed wing. Flight instrument rating. Multi-instrument Flight Rating. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Airport security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel. Willing to travel regularly. Travel expenses paid by employer.
