As a vertically integrated company, we design, develop and manufacture our product portfolio of over 20,000 items.<br>In Montreal since 2014, Thorlabs Canada ULC now has 60 employees and focuses on the development and production of a wide range of fiber-based optical components for next-generation imaging devices and advanced instrumentation. We also machine a wide range of products using femtosecond lasers.<br><br><b>Job objective</b><br>The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and improving production processes, developing and teaching assembly techniques, improving manufacturing processes, resolving production-related problems, and promoting quality throughout production and related services.<br><br><b>Essential job functions include, </b>but are not limited to <b>:</b><br><br><em>Production support and maintenance of 4 processes</em><br>- Write, in collaboration with product development engineers, process documentation, work instructions, equipment operating instructions and qualification procedures.<br>- Define and monitor KPIs for supported processes<br>- Participate in preventive maintenance of production equipment for supported processes<br>- Take charge of repairs, or liaise with equipment suppliers, in the event of breakdowns or malfunctions impacting production.<br><br><em>Continuous improvement</em><br>- Carry out equipment improvement projects to support and facilitate production<br>- Keep procedures up to date in the event of changes in the manufacturing process, and train employees accordingly<br><br><em>Quality and customer feedback</em><br>- Collaborate with various departments and services to inspect and deal with non-conformities and customer feedback on supported processes.<br>- Perform audits, including preparing and carrying out audits, creating reports on results, determining appropriate corrective and preventive actions.<br>- Analyze causes of defects, monitor KPIs and prepare regular reports.<br>- Maintain and prepare quality assurance reports.<br><br><em>Employee training and management</em><br>- Train and integrate new employees on supported processes.<br>- Ensure that, following the transfer of new products to production, processes, requirements and specifications are respected at all times.<br>- Manage a team of 5 people on one of the supported processes<br>- Organize work between employees, monitor individual productivity <br><br><em>In addition to the essential duties and tasks listed above, the person recruited will also be required to:</em><br>- Meet company standards for quantity and quality of work performed, executing all work-related tasks in a manner consistent with all company policies and procedures.<br>- Comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines regarding workplace standards of behavior in the performance of tasks and assignments.<br><br></p><p>Thorlabs Canada ULC is an equal opportunity employer and invites applications from women, aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible or ethnic minorities.<br>Please note that only successful candidates will be contacted. <br><br><b>What we offer</b> <br>A permanent, full-time position (40 hours), Monday to Friday, with flexible hours<br>Salary according to experience<br>Paid vacations and sick days from the first year onwards<br>Group insurance (medical, dental, life, long-term disability) and a pension plan with employer contributions (RRSP+DPSP) after 3 months <br>A seniority recognition program<br>Free on-site parking</p> <br> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong><br><em>Experience </em><strong>:</strong><br>Minimum
