Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.We are seeking creative, dynamic, committed educational leaders<p> to join the following initiative:<p>Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) <p>100% Regular (10 month work year) <p>$72,076 to $81,601 <p>Learning Support Services, 133 Greenbank Road, Nepean Under the direction of the Principal of Learning Support Services, or<p>designate, the Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) supports school teams<p>through consultation, observation, coaching, and modelling for the purposes of<p>integrating the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to meet the<p>needs of special needs students in the elementary and secondary panels.<p>Candidate Profile: <p>Completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field is<p>required. Certification in BCBA is required. Must be in good standing with the Ontario Association for Behaviour<p>Analysis (ONTABA). A minimum of three (3) years of related<p>experience working with children and youth who have special education needs, in<p>particular those who have autism spectrum disorders. An equivalent combination<p>of education and relevant experience may be considered (Certification in BCBA<p>is required).<p>Major Responsibilities: Working with students, school staff, parents/guardians and community<p> agencies;<p> Working in collaboration with members of the ASD (Autism Spectrum <p> Disorder) Team and other central teams;<p> Gathering, recording, and analyzing data (e.g., formal, informal,<p> observational, etc.) to inform next steps and strategies for students with ASD<p> and/or challenging behaviours;<p> Designing, developing and delivering professional development for school<p> board staff at all levels; and<p> May also be assigned to special projects as assigned by the Principal of<p> Learning Support Services, or designate.Required Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; gathering,<p> evaluating, and analyzing information from a range of sources including<p> consultation with parents/guardians, group homes, school staff, central staff,<p> and community agencies;<p> Excellent oral and written communication skills;<p> Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;<p> Time management, and prioritization skills to service multiple sites,<p> ensure timely assessments and reports;<p> Computer literacy and knowledge and application of on-line learning;<p> Knowledge and understanding of school board policies and procedures;<p> and,<p> Knowledge of Ministry of Education directives and the current Ontario<p> curriculum. <p> Application Process The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board uses Applytoeducation (ATE) to manage applications for job competitions.
