Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). Retail/wholesale establishment/distribution centre. Retail business. Supermarket/grocery store. Budgetary responsibility: $4,000,001 - $8,000,000. Tasks: Plan and control budget and expenditures. Hire, train, direct and motivate staff. Plan, develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures. Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services. Authorize the development of specifications for products or services. Manage contracts. Review and process claims against suppliers. Oversee the analysis of data and information. Oversee the preparation of reports. Advise senior management. Organize and maintain inventory. Resolve delivery and other problems with suppliers. Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers. Maintain records on inventory control system. Establish delivery schedules. Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs. Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Supervision: 3-4 people. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Office. MS Outlook. MS Word. Inventory control software. Area of work experience: Purchasing, procurement and contracts.
