Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Work setting: Food and beverage plant. Food and/or beverage processing. Tasks: Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems. Train technicians, assistants, students or interns. Supervise staff. Provide staff training. Propose improvements to methods, systems and procedures. Oversee safety of operations. Apply quality control procedure. Monitor quality and production levels. Troubleshoot problems related to equipment. Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility. Labourers in food, beverage and tobacco processing. Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing. Testers and graders, food and beverage processing. 50-100 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: Lean Manufacturing. Type of operation: Canning. Blending. Bottling. Equipment and machinery experience: Processing machinery. High speed packaging equipment. Area of work experience: Process troubleshooting. Type of industry experience: Food and beverages. Regulations knowledge: CIP (Cleaning In Place) and SIP (Sanitizing in Place) Systems. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). High temperature short time (HTST) pasteurization processing. Knowledge of labour relations. Knowledge of preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Overtime required.
