Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment. Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components. Perform on-site servicing and repair. Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Electrical Mechanic Trade Certification. Area of specialization: Electric motors. Transformers. Switchgears. Industrial motors. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools.
