Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Noisy. Work setting: Construction. Service. Residential. Commercial. Tasks: Determine layout and installation procedures. Set up machines and equipment. Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base. Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite. Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel. Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools. Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Organized. Reliability. Team player. Screening questions: Are you currently a student?. Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
