Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Team player. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
