Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction site. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures. Instruct apprentices. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at port side. Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction. Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Pave and rake asphalt. Assist in demolishing buildings. Perform routine maintenance work. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Direct traffic at or near construction sites. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
