Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Compile orders and instructions received from customers. Oversee operational logistics of the organization. Plan and organize operational logistics of the organization. Track and complete work orders. Prepare and submit reports. Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries. Maintain work records and logs. Perform general office duties. Conduct performance reviews. Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders. Follow-up on issues with work orders. Keep track of shipments. Knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices. Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations. Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment. Record mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses. Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment. Supervision: Dispatchers and radio operators. Transportation route and crew schedulers. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Overtime required.
