*POSITION TITLE: DINING ROOM EXECUTIVE CHEF - STEFANSON HUS ASSISTED LIVING*
ABOUT US:
Betel Heritage Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization which owns and operates the Waterfront Centre, a 55+ independent living residence; Landmark Apartments, and _Stefanson Hús, an assisted living residence opening in the fall 2024. _
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a talented and experienced executive chef to join our team at our assisted living senior?s residence. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, and a commitment to providing excellent service in a caring and supportive environment. This position is part of the management team and will report to the Residence Director.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead, mentor and manage the culinary team
· Ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
· Plan and prepare daily meals for residents, taking into account dietary restrictions
· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations
· Create prep lists, maintenance, ordering and operational schedules for the kitchen staff
· Manage food costs and inventory
· Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality and appearance
· Interview and assist with selecting required kitchen staff
· Schedule staff and assist in human resource processes, as required
· Provide exceptional customer service and create a warm dining experience for residents
· Ability to work extended hours as required
· Complete all other tasks as assigned
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven experience as a lead chef, preferably in a senior living or healthcare environment
· Strong culinary skills, knowledge of trends, nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors
· Excellent organization, communication and leadership abilities
· Holds the required food handling and preparation certifications
· Understanding of health and sanitation laws
· Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
· Basic computer skills and experience in Microsoft office
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Red River College Red Seal Designation or equivalent, preferred
· High school diploma
· Management experience in a similar culinary environment
· Three to five years experience in a high-volume kitchen
