*Overview:* As a DZ Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from construction sites or other locations. You will ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a high level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Vehicle Operation:*
* Operate DZ-class commercial trucks safely and efficiently, including dump trucks, flatbeds, and other heavy vehicles.
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.
* *Material Transportation:*
* Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, ensuring proper securement and weight distribution.
* Transport goods to designated locations, following the most efficient and safe routes.
* Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and obtain necessary signatures and documentation.
* *Safety and Compliance:*
* Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies while operating the vehicle.
* Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, including the cab and cargo areas.
* Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures at all times.
* *Customer Service:*
* Interact with customers and site personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
* Address any questions or concerns regarding deliveries and provide excellent customer service.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors to provide updates on delivery status.
* *Record Keeping:*
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of driving hours, deliveries, and any incidents or delays.
* Complete and submit required paperwork, such as delivery receipts and inspection reports.
* Keep track of fuel usage, mileage, and other relevant information.
* *Assistance with Other Duties:*
* Assist with loading and unloading activities.
* Support general labor tasks on construction sites when not driving, as needed.
* Participate in training sessions and safety meetings as required.
*Skills and Qualifications:*
* Valid DZ (or equivalent) commercial driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience as a DZ Truck Driver or similar role in the construction or transportation industry.
* Ability to operate various types of DZ-class vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and safe driving practices.
* Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and manual labor.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Education and Certification:*
* High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
* Certification or training in commercial driving and vehicle operation is an asset.
* Valid DZ (or equivalent) commercial driver's license is required.
*Work Environment:*
* Work primarily takes place on the road and at various construction sites, involving exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
* May require occasional travel to different project locations and flexibility in working hours to meet delivery schedules and project deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
Schedule:
* Day shift
* Monday to Friday
* Night shift
* Weekends as needed
