Posting OT 2023-2024 - 2<p> Occupational Therapist <p> Temporary - until June 27, 2024 or Return of Incumbent <p> (Mat Leave)<p> <p>Location Division Office<p>FTE 1.0<p>Start Date November 16, 2023<p>Salary To Be Negotiated<p>Closing Date Open until Filled<p> <p>Our Division <p>Fort McMurray Public School Division (FMPSD) part of Alberta?s publicly-funded education system and its staff of over 720 proudly serves over 7300 students in the Municipality of Wood Buffalo.<p> <p>FMPSD warmly welcomes students and families to the Municipality of Wood Buffalo.<p> <p>Our Mission <p> <p>The Fort McMurray Public School Division is a learning community dedicated to educating all students for personal excellence.<p> <p>Salary negotiable based on experience, training and number of days worked, plus a comprehensive benefit/pension plan and the Northern Living Allowance.<p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities <p> <p><p> Build staff capacity (teachers, educational assistants, LAC teachers, administrators, etc.)<p> Formal and informal screening and/or assessment as required<p> Create treatment plans<p> Attend parent meetings to implement, review and report on the child?s progress<p> Monitor a child?s progress<p> Supply appropriate resources such as visuals, etc.<p> Assist teachers and education assistants in providing developmentally appropriate practice<p> Maintain an inventory of materials, assessments, and supplies<p> Maintain appropriate, confidential records, and provide timely reports (complying with standards of Alberta Learning)<p> Meet with school teams<p> Communicate with supervisor<p> Other duties as assigned<p><p> <p>Qualifications <p> <p>Completing a Master?s degree in Occupational Therapy is required. An experienced Occupational Therapist will provide mentoring and support.<p> <p>The successful applicant must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapy Association (ACOT).<p> <p>Strong team and interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a trans-disciplinary environment.<p> <p>Demonstrated ability to manage caseload in a timely and effective manner.<p> <p>This position follows the local School Division calendar.<p> <p>The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record/vulnerable sector check.
