The Position: Director Deposits Services, Enterprise Deposit Technology The Role: Scotiabank is revamping its core banking technology with a modern eco-system consist of several new products & technologies. The Director of Deposit Services will build a new team responsible for features complimenting the core deposit system including product catalogue, billing and fees calculations. The role includes defining multi-year technology roadmap that supports incremental enhancement of business features via technology innovations and future proofing architectures. This is a high paced area that supports critical business priorities collaborating with multiple technology and operational areas. The team will be make-up of 3 to 5 delivery pods that execute concurrently, annual technology investment between $5MM to $25MM. What will you do? Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Contribute to the overall success of the organization ensuring specific goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in alignment with the business strategies and objectives. Lead the key functions of US Core Banking Engineering Identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage platform capabilities effectively, deliver future proof technology solutions and take a leading role in initiatives to drive innovation and digital transformation throughout the Bank. This will be achieved through defining a business/technology roadmap focused on core banking technologies, customer data/information, API integration, Analytics and Cloud environments. Define solution architecture, technology roadmap, and lead cross functional implementation of IT solutions to enable business value Lead the implementation of transformative technology initiatives to enable Payments and Core Banking Engineering's success through increased efficiency, reduced cost, faster time to market Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Create an environment in which teams pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Build a high-performance agile environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.What do you need to succeed? 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role with technical architecture, development or delivery focus University degree in relevant STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)Experience with Core Banking & Business Banking - Application Integration, Micro services and APIs, and Messaging Subject area experience with Financial Industry products and services preferred: Retail Banking/Lending, Commercial Banking/Lending, Payments Familiar with regulatory and compliance needs (such as AML, CASL, OSFI) is an asset. Tools skills/experience in Java based platforms and frameworks, APIs, Micro service architectures & cloud components. Had successful executed delivery using a vendor out of box solution/service. Considerable experience transforming a delivery team to adopt Agile principles and operate in an DevOps environment enabling CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery).
