*ACCOUNTABILITIES*
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) this position is responsible providing, financial services support which contributes to the success of SJIAA. As the Manager of Financial Services, you will work closely with various departments to ensure alignment and legislation compliance with accounting practices. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing best practice procurement standards and practices for SJIAA. Beyond managing day to day operations, you will make a significant contribution to the ongoing effort to align our financial operations and planning capabilities with our strategic and operational plans.
Specific accountabilities for this role will include:
* Support the CFO in directing internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria
* Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance team, which will including training and mentoring team members
* Ensure the effective and timely delivery of all accounting and finance operations reports
* Prepare and review monthly reporting packages, interpreting results and presenting to the CFO
* Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Review current processes & practices and directs the accounting team in implementing procedures / systems improvements as needed
* Play a key role in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, liaising with departments as necessary
* Play a lead role in the external audits, liaising with the external auditors and preparing supporting documentation as required
* Provide expert advice, leadership, guidance, and direction related to the development and implementation of SJIAA?s procurement and contracts strategies and policies
* Manage the procurement of common services to ensure quality procurement and support for SJIAA
* Establish a procurement accountability framework, review contracts to recommend process improvements, and ensure alignment with business goals
* Create training and development programs for internal staff to ensure consistency, fairness, and transparency in the procurement and contract processes within SJIAA
*IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS*
* CPA designation is required
* At least 5 years relevant work experience, with at least 3 years leadership experience in accounting/finance roles
* Strong understanding of financial management systems, accounting principles, and practices of budget preparation
* At least 3-5 years experience in procurement and vendor management
* Exceptional leadership abilities coupled with a strong ethical standard
* The ability to function effectively both in a highly regulated strategic environment and in a high-pressure operating environment that often needs decisive leadership
* The ability to collaboratively work with cross-functional teams of colleagues, other leaders, and staff as well as the ability to independently accomplish tasks and assignments
* Excellent planning, time management skills and the ability to prioritize workloads effectively
* Must obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
* Strong leadership and analytical skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills
