*About the job: *
The Executive Chef at The Adventure Hotel, oversees the daily operations of the kitchen, this includes the managing, scheduling, training, and control over costs of goods and labour. The Chef leads the team during operations focusing on serving consistent perfect food, every time, and working with a sense of purpose and urgency. The Chef oversees the inventory and ordering of food and supplies, receiving and preparation of all items. Additionally, the Chef will work with the General Manager and Front of House Managers on Restaurant, Pub and Banquet Menu development and continual improvements of general policies and procedures.
The Chef is responsible for ensuring that our most important people, our Guests and team members, have an exceptional experience from start to finish. This person will demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities, believe in championing a fun and safe work environment and contribute to a thriving workplace culture.
*Experience and skills: *
* Able to work in a high-pressure environment
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
* Previous experience, minimum of three years, in the culinary management field required
* Red Seal certification or 5 years equivalent experience
* Diploma/Certification in a culinary discipline an asset

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the back of house operations for Louie?s Steakhouse & Bar, The Uptown Sportsbar, the banquet facilities and Empire Coffee. Nelson is known in winter for its fabulously deep and dry powder whether it?s at Whitewater Ski resort or its epic surroundings for touring, in summer for its intense mountain biking and scenic motorcycle touring.
