Ready to Make an impact?The Analyst payroll operations & compliance will be responsible to administer pay runs, verify results, postings, administer third party remittances, prepare monthly reconciliations and prepare year end filings. Please note that this position is a contract of 12 months. Here's where you'll be focusing:Process multiple biweekly payrolls and monthly retiree payroll Process off-cycle payroll deposits or cheque requests Reconcile, remit, and report on all payroll liabilities on time to avoid significant fines and penalties ( including CRA, MRQ, WCB (all provinces), EHT, MB Health Tax, (NL Health Tax, STD, Group Benefits, RRSPs, Pension, Garnishments, Union Dues, Union Benefits, Charities, Municipal Tax, and Party Funds) Reconcile and report on vacation liability account Manage maternity pension contribution process Prepare key performance indicator reports Prepare monthly National sick/overtime reports Prepare period end working papers for all payroll liability accounts Prepare journal entries Reconcile banking accounts Issue Cost Center Owner Reports and respond to inquiriesAnalyze complex Payroll issuesRespond to Regional Human Resource and Finance inquiries Manage Accounts Receivable group benefit cheque process Improve business efficiency Identify areas for process improvementPrepare and execute year end activities on time to avoid significant fines and penalties( including producing and reconciling T4s, T4As, RL-1s and annual returns for WCB including all provinces, EHT, NL Health Tax and MB Health Tax) Process annual bonus payments Process Record of Employment (ROE's) in accordance with Service Canada requirementsWhat you have to offer:An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a DEC and a minimum of 4 years relevant experienceKnowledge of basic accounting principles Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written (english and french would be an asset)Ability to analyze data, problem solve and make decisions Ability to be discrete and sensitive to confidential informationAble to handle large volumes of work and meet tight deadlinesAble to meet customer service standardsProficient in Microsoft Office Knowledge of SAP HR, Canadian PayrollNPI Designation preferredAt Sobeys we require our teammates to have the ability to adhere to a hybrid work model that requires your presence at one of our office locations at least three days per week.
