<h3>Job Description</h3><div>Job Description<div><p><strong>Job Description - Accounting Associate and Scalehouse Operator</strong></p><p><strong>Summary</strong></p><p>The <strong>Accounting Associate and Scalehouse Operator</strong> will ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices, and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management. Provide back up for scale house staff during peak times and breaks. Collaborate with the Controller and other Accounting Associates to maintain A/P / A/R performance levels. This includes filing and performing other accounting duties for finance. The Accounting Associate is directly responsible for performing data entry and related duties in accounting to individuals, suppliers, corporations, and other entities. This includes filing, maintaining, and updating financial spreadsheets and performing other administrative duties of the finance department. The Accounting Associate will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This individual will work flexible hours, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.</p><p><strong>Core Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Customer Focus</li><li>Communication</li><li>Energy and Stress</li><li>Team Work</li><li>Quality Orientation</li><li>Problem Solving</li><li>Accountability and Dependability</li><li>Operating Equipment</li><li>Ethics and Integrity</li></ul><p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Collaborate with the Controller to maintain A/P performance levels.</li><li>Perform Accounts Payable and Administrative duties.</li><li>Enter Accounts Payable data</li><li>Update financial spreadsheets.</li><li>Post and reconcile company payments to general ledgers.</li><li>Perform other administrative duties of the finance department.</li><li>Review bills to the company for potential errors and/or discrepancies.</li><li>Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or misapplied cash transactions.</li><li>Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.</li><li>Balance daily A/P batches; prepare and distribute payment reports and statistics to key personnel.</li><li>Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners.</li><li>Investigate payment problems while following corporate A/P policies and procedures.</li><li>Perform Administrative duties (order office supplies)</li></ul><p>• <em>Filing accounts payable,</em></p><ul><li>Enter accounts payable data, enter accounts receivable data.</li><li>Must be familiar with use of computers, possessing keyboard accuracy and speed</li><li>Exercise clear, friendly, and accurate telephone etiquette; direct calls to the appropriate staff member as needed.</li><li>Communicate any safety precautions to drivers, delivery persons and/ or other site visitors</li><li>Must be familiar with small office machines</li><li>Fax/ scanner/ copier/printer/</li><li>Phone</li><li>Debit/ Credit processing machine</li></ul><ul><li>Work well with co-workers in a work environment that stresses cooperation, collaboration, and mutual respect</li></ul><p><strong>Scale Operations</strong></p><ul><li>Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, visitors, and delivery persons by greeting them in a friendly and respectful manner and striving to meet both their needs and expectations</li><li>Recognize our regular customers, drivers, and their respective truck</li><li>Present a consistent, courteous "unflappable" demeanor and friendly visage (interact with customers, while expediting movement of the trucks across the scale)</li><li>Exercise clear, friendly, and accurate telephone etiquette; direct calls to the appropriate staff member as needed</li><li>Listen to and endeavor to address customer questions, comments and/ or concerns to customer satisfaction to the best of your ability and/ or as required direct the customer to the appropriate manager- LocationCalgary, AB
