Reporting to our Director of Finance, as a *Junior Accountant* at Coast, you play a vital role in ensuring our financial integrity and accuracy of our company's records.
In our fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations for the monthly general ledger close and ensuring the accurate and timely recording of Coast?s financial transactions, including revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities. With your strong foundational accounting knowledge and keen attention to detail, you will support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial activities.
*As our new Junior Accountant, you will:*
*Reconciliation and Analysis*
* Maintain various ledger accounts including Bank reconciliation, Monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations, and General Ledger to Subledger reconciliations.
* Create account analyses.
* Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions accurately and timely.
* Review financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
* Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
*Compliance and Audits*
* Prepare government and other statutory remittances, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
* Assist in internal and external year-end and other audits throughout the year providing required data for auditors.
* Maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
*Financial Records*
* Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and procedures, guaranteeing data integrity and reliability.
* Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes.
* Ensure all financial tasks and reporting are completed by established deadlines, maintaining high standards of data integrity throughout all processes.

*Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*
* Demonstrated competence with balance sheet reconciliations (bank and or other balance sheet accounts).
* Demonstrated competence with journal entry posting.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
* Proficiency in a MS Windows environment and MS office applications
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is essential.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Collaborative and team orientated, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
* Organized, detail oriented, and takes pride in accuracy.
* Excellent time management balancing competing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
* Demonstrates sound judgment based on factual analysis and communicates information with confidence.
*Qualifications*
* The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years? experience in a similar role.
* Experience completing journal entry posting, and bank / balance sheet reconciliations.
* Experience in a high-volume, multi-location organization with +30M revenue would be considered an asset.
* Enrollment in the CPA program or equivalent (2nd or 3rd year)
