Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Supervise other workers. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size. Apprenticeship training: Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Work under pressure. Ability to work independently. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Team player. Time management. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
