Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Community or retail pharmacy. Tasks: Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies. Advise customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products . Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route. Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification. Computer and technology knowledge: Kroll Software. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Work under pressure. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus.
