Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Construction site. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Instruct apprentices. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Assemble tower cranes on site. Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction. Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards. Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites. Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials. Operate cranes mounted on boats or barges to lift, move and place equipment and materials. Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Direct traffic at or near construction sites. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Hand-eye co-ordination. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Flexibility. Reliability. Team player. Hardworking.
