Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Tasks: Advise clients on beauty care treatments. Analyze hair and scalp condition. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Maintain and order supplies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Barbering Trade Certification. Barber Licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement. Reliability. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees .
