Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Examine plans, drawings and site layouts. Plan safety programs. Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Inspect construction of building and engineering construction. Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards. Inspect and provide reports on condition of new or resale homes. Type of inspection: New and existing buildings. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Sound discrimination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods. Large workload. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate.
