The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff. <p>The Speech-Language Pathologist will work with resource teachers and school teams to support students who have significant developmental disabilities with significant learning, communication and/or behavior challenges. <p> <p>Job Description: <p>All positions within Learning Services engage in supporting the District?s Strategic Plan, specifically, Strategic Priority 1: Inspired Learners and Strategic Priority 2: Equity and Inclusion. Speecj-Language Pathologist position includes opportunities to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment in the context of the Learning Services Department and with school personnel. This position also involves professional consultation and supporting educational changes in a variety of contexts. The successful candidate will also:<p><p> Provide collaborative consultation with teachers, parents, and community agencies, and at school-based team meetings<p> Provide ongoing collaborative planning for students and classrooms and assist with pre-referral interventions<p> Provide individualized psycho-educational assessments (based on student need) for students referred through the school-based team process<p> Contribute to the development and progress monitoring of the IEP or Student Learning Plan<p> Provide in-service training in the area of interventions, progress monitoring, data collection and/or assessment<p> Assist with the Ministry of Education processes for designation and adjudication<p> Assist school and district staff in providing additional ?Pro D? support for educators and support staff<p><p>Qualifications: <p><p> Certified/eligible for certification by the Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC), and be a member in good standing of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.If you have any questions about this position, please contact Braunwyn Thompson, Director of Instruction - Inclusive Learning (bthompson@sd38.bc.ca).<p><p>For further information please contact Braunwyn Thompson, Director of Instruction - Inclusive Learning (bthompson@sd38.bc.ca).<p>We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those being considered for interviews will be contacted.<p>Richmond School District is committed to recruiting a diverse workforce that represents the community we so proudly serve.
