<p> Join The Upper Canada District School Board <p> Creating Futures, Leading and Learning for All We are currently accepting applications for Educational Assistant . The position involves dealing with confidential information and requires ongoing flexibility and diversity. In support of student learning, teaching, and other professional staff, the responsibilities are many and varied and include any or all of the following: supporting the instruction of individual and/or groups of students in an academic and/or integrated class environment, overseeing special education students and implementing special education programs related to behaviour, communication, intellectual or physical needs, where required.<p> Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of specific social/emotional and physical needs of students with learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, developmental disabilities, or physical challenges.<p> Details of vacancy: <p> The Educational Assistant will assist students in acquiring and sustaining/increasing individual skill development in reading, writing, mathematics, real-world learning, and mental health and wellness. The program will also focus on engaging parents and developing student self-confidence. Summer Learning 2024 will be a unique approach to explore the use of diverse teaching and learning tools and employ modalities that engage students. The program requires on-site presence<p> Staff will report to the Principal/Vice-Principal of Summer Learning Hours of Work: The Summer Learning Program will run from July 2 to July 19, 2024, inclusive from 8:30am to 12:30pm, Monday to Friday.<p> Successful applicants are asked to participate in two (2) days of virtual training scheduled for June 26, 2024, and June 27, 2024, from 4:00pm-6:00pm each day. Should an applicant not be able to attend, they will not be paid.<p> Successful applicants must attend the mandatory full day virtual training, scheduled June 28, 2024, to ensure consistency of program delivery across all sites. This position is covered under the UCDSB/CUPE collective agreement.
