They work as a collaborative team who put the student at the centre of her learning and provide structure and programs to assist her as she makes decisions about her learning, wellbeing and her future. CHS is seeking a Learning Strategies Coordinator to support students with learning needs and to coordinate the work of the other learning strategists. As a Learning Strategist/Inclusive Education Teacher, you are an expert in your field. As an experienced, knowledgeable and progressive specialist, you are able to support all kinds of learners. In particular, you are confident in supporting learners using approaches that are reflective of the way in which girls learn. You bring innovative solutions to learning challenges experienced by students. You optimize the resources available to you. Balanced with supporting students, you mentor teachers in understanding learning challenges experienced by the students in their classes and guide them toward strategies that ultimately support all learners. As the Learning Resource Program Coordinator, you provide guidance and oversight to this program and support a team of Learning Strategists to be effective and current in their roles. You provide organizational leadership to the day-to-day operations of Learning strategies and guidance to the development of the program as a whole. You also support the whole faculty in developing their understanding and their classroom practice around learning strategies for students with specific needs. Students, members of your department, colleagues, and parents find you to be approachable, knowledgeable, genuine and supportive. You are energized by what you do. You understand the importance of parents as partners in their daughters education by maintaining open and collaborative relationships within the parent community. As a lifelong learner, you demonstrate a commitment to actively seeking professional development, to continuously reflect on your practice and to collaborating with your colleagues to maximize student learning. You participate actively in the life of the school. You will find the school to be a professional learning centre. In addition to spending an engaging day with students who are genuinely interested in learning, thinking, and playing, teachers are provided with the gift of time as part of their daily schedule to plan and work collaboratively with others.
