We pride ourselves on providing staff and students with the tools to achieve success by offering dynamic programming, current resources, and practical professional learning opportunities<p>EIPS is recruiting a full-time Family School Liaison Worker (FSLW) at Fort Saskatchewan Christian School. <p>Fort Saskatchewan Christian serves approximately 430 students in kindergarten to Grade 9, with 25 teaching staff and 12 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB. <p>Fort Saskatchewan Christian offers an Alternative Christian program with a mission to assist families by providing students with a Christ-centred, biblically directed education that instills the vision and practice of excellence in academics, moral character and services to others. <p>Alternative Christian schools within EIPS follow the regular provincial curricula interpreted from an Evangelical Christian Philosophy. A classified staff member is encouraged to bring a Christian viewpoint to issues and topics within their job description. Applicants should be able to support the teacher in bringing a Christian philosophy to issues and topics that arise in the classroom and the school. Applicants should include relevant information about their Christian philosophy of education in their cover letter. FSLWs work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery by helping families set goals, integrate interventions, plan strategies and arrange resources that will help children be successful in school, at home and in the community. The FSLW offers support services in a variety of formats (individuals, families, groups).<p>KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES <p>Student Support Establish trusting and meaningful relationships with students<p> Participate in the assessment of student's emotional/behavioural and social needs<p> Assist in planning and implementing strategies to address student needs (planned daily activities, providing information, making referrals, recreational/skill development activities or workshops)<p> Help youth identify personal strengths and resources for positive change<p> Participate in case conferences<p> Provide school and/or community-based prevention-oriented educational groups<p> Advocate for students within the school and communityFamily Support Promote a closer link among school, family and community<p> Enhance communication among family, school and community service providers<p> Provide parent workshops as needed<p> Act as a resource for families as needed (provide information, facilitate referrals to community agencies)<p> Strengthen families by providing support, teaching and resourcesSchool Support Consult with teachers, counsellors and administration as to students needs and progress<p> Provide consultation for school personnel regarding student social and emotional concerns/development<p> Participate in IPP development/implementation as requiredCommunication Consult with teachers, counsellors and administration<p> Communicate with community
