BUILDING AUTOMATION SYSTEMS (BAS) SPECIALIST <p>Salary Range: $70,643 - $88,306 per year (under<p>review)<p>1.0 FTE Permanent Position<p>The Simcoe<p>County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time<p>position of Building Automation Systems (BAS) Specialist to work as a<p>member of the Maintenance and Environmental Services team. The successful<p>candidate will be responsible for training staff on front end software, optimizing<p>the BAS and HVAC systems by monitoring, assessing, and correcting operational<p>issues and inefficiencies; modifying, debugging, and verifying BAS operating<p>and programming logic; commissioning/re-commissioning new/existing HVAC<p>equipment to ensure that operational, energy performance, cost avoidance, and<p>indoor air quality objectives and targets, are achieved and maintained.<p>Qualifications, Pertinent Skills and Experience: <p> <p>Certificate of Qualification<p>in a mechanical or electrical trade, or a three (3) year college diploma in<p>Mechanical/Electrical/Building Systems Technology or equivalent, preferably<p>with Certification through the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering<p>Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).<p> <p>Minimum five (5) years related<p>experience in the areas of HVAC and building automation systems, commissioning, maintenance, and<p>troubleshooting. <p> <p>Ability to program/de-bug<p>(Basic language) HVAC computer code (Reliable, Siemens or similar).<p> <p>Knowledge of automation<p>systems computer hardware and software installation.<p> <p>Experience in recommissioning<p>of HVAC systems to correct operational inefficiencies and restore intended<p>functionality. <p> <p>Knowledge of applicable<p>building codes and regulatory requirements related to mechanical building<p>systems installation and maintenance. <p> <p>Ability to explain technical<p>information to non-technical people.<p> <p>Excellent organizational and<p>time management skills.<p> <p>Solid analytical skills.<p> <p>Ability to work independently, as well as being<p>a team player.<p> <p>Strong oral and written communication skills.<p> <p>Effective leadership and conflict resolution<p>skills.<p> <p>Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving<p>skills.<p> <p>Previous experience in an education environment<p>would be an asset.<p> <p>Ability to<p>adapt quickly to a dynamic, evolving environment.<p> <p>A valid<p>drivers license and reliable vehicle are required as this position will<p>require travel to various sites throughout Simcoe County.<p>TESTING<p>MAY BE REQUIRED DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS. <p>This<p>is a full-time permanent position. The regular work year for this position is twelve<p>(12) months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month<p>position is $70,643 to $88,306 per year, depending on qualifications and<p>experience.
