Job Description
*SENIOR ACCOUNTANT* to perform administrative, bookkeeping, and accounting duties.
Responsibilities:
Full cycle accounting and finance duties for multi companies including but not limited to:
Accounting and finance functions including preparation of journal entries.
Preparation of monthly and year-end financial reports for auditor.
Preparation of monthly internal financial statements and analysis.
Daily bank balance reporting.
Bank and credit card reconciliation.
Payroll and benefits processing.
Accounts payable full cycle: enter invoices, timely payments via cheques, credit cards and on line banking, as well as handling vendor queries.
Accounts receivables full cycle: creating and submitting invoices, calling customers and tenants for collections. Applying customer payments, rent, pre-paid deposits customer queries.
Mortgage accounting ensuring principle / interest splits.
Accruals and deferrals
Property, equipment and vehicle fleet accounting including appropriate recording of depreciation.
Tax filings: GST / PST returns federal tax installments or payments. Property Tax
Construction Job Costing for various construction projects.
Intercompany accounting for all intercompany transactions
Update and keeping current existing spreadsheets.
Filing as required
Other day to day accounting and finance duties as required or assigned.
Prepare monthly and year end financial reports for auditor. Review Balance Sheets and Income Statements per corporation and property. Verify account balances, revenue and expense amounts.
Ensure all property and tenant information is up to date and correct. Prepare annual CAM reconciliations and allocations for the year to follow. Prepare back up documents.
Prepare annual budget for each property. Prepare management reports, including budgets, insurance, tax and CAM information.
Bank deposits: Tenant rent cheques, mortgage payments, security deposits, misc receivables.
Experience:
5+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or full-cycle accounting and administrative duties in construction and property management. Advanced knowledge of Excel.
A degree or diploma in accounting. (required)
Experience in using accounting Jonas Accounting Software. Excel, Word, Outlook.
Must have good written and verbal communications skills. Knowledge of general office equipment.
