Grade 4 Teacher (Full-Time 2.0) <p> <p>The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum. <p> <p>This competition is open to all applicants who reside in Canada; and preference will be given to First Nation or other Indigenous applicants who possess the qualifications, knowledge, and skills to meet the minimum suitability requirements as stated for the position.<p> <p>The ADEA is seeking two competent, confident, motivated individuals to fill the position of a full time, permanent Grade 4 Teacher at Father Megret Elementary School (FMES), located at Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan. FMES is a Pre-K to Grade 5 facility with a student population of 200+, and a strong group of professional and paraprofessional staff.<p> <p>Opportunity: <p>This position reports to the Principal and/or Vice Principal of the school. The Teacher has responsibilities with respect to the quality of learning experience; shall co-operate with colleagues and administrative authorities in advancing the educational standard and efficiency levels of the school; and participate in educational planning by the staff and band, and in regular advancement of their personal professional competence.<p> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: <p><p> Create and maintain a learning environment that encourages and supports the growth of the whole student.<p> Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: <p> <p> <p> Qualifications: <p> <p> Bachelors Degree in Education or equivalent <p> Must be eligible for or posses a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate. <p> Related training or experience in the field of education would be a definite asset.<p> Experience in teaching First Nations students at the primary level is an asset. <p><p><p> To strive to meet the diverse needs of students by designing the most appropriate learning experiences for them. <p><p><p> To demonstrate and support a repertoire of instructional strategies and methods that is applied in teaching activities.<p> To develop teaching practices that recognize and accommodate diversity within the classroom, the school, and the community. <p> To implement the provincial curriculum conscientiously and diligently, considering the context for teaching and learning provided by students, the school and the community.<p><p><p> Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the context of the Denesuline culture and language.<p> Actively engage with families, children, and community members to understand their backgrounds and experiences to support an equitable and inclusive school environment.<p> Participate in extra-curricular activities including required programs as needed throughout year to best serve students and community.<p><p><p> Provide direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with ADEA initiatives and recognized best instructional practices.<p> Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents and community. <p> Act in a professional and ethical manner and always adhere to the Code of Ethics Professional Conduct.<p> Maintain confidentiality of students and other professional information, comply with ADEA policies, procedures, and programs, and support school improvement initiatives.<p><p> <p> <p> <p>If you are interested in applying for the above position, please submit your resume along with a cover letter, references and a most recent Criminal Police Record Check and a Child Vulnerable Sector Check
