We are seeking a Social Worker to join our clinical services team. In accordance with professional practice standards and in consultation with Halton District School Boards Indigenous Rights and Education Department and Equity and Inclusive Education Department, the Regional Social Worker - Indigenous Focus will be responsible for the following: <p>Providing Social Work Support to Students who self identify as Indigenous throughout Halton District School Board.<p>Provide culturally safe, reflective, relevant and affirming social work care and support to students and families who self identify as Indigenous.<p>Develop supports and psychoeducational tools that are responsive to students and parents. <p>Provide comprehensive, culturally inclusive support and social work case management services using knowledge of local and regional community resources. <p>Support learning of students and Board staff in collaboration with the Indigenous Rights and Education Department in understanding rights and the historical and current manifestations of all forms of discrimination as a result of colonialism , including racism, trauma and the impacts on Indigenous children, youth and families.<p>Provide assessment, planning and intervention for student mental health and well-being with students who identify as Indigenous. <p>Provide support services that are reflective of the individual needs of each student and family. <p>Provide culturally safe, reflective, relevant and affirming crisis support for Indigenous students and families. <p>Provide direct service to students for individual or group counseling.<p>Provide direct service to staff that includes capacity building on Indigenous Rights and the impacts of colonialism historically and in the current context.<p>Provide direct service communicating and supporting families for the purposes of enhancing home-school connection and accessing community resources. <p>Provide social work services individually or in groups.<p>Complete referrals to and liaise with various community agencies involved with student care, including obtaining and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of community services specific to Indigenous children and families and maintaining working relationships with these services.<p>Co
