Reporting fo the Foreperson, the Mechanical technician will be responsible for maintaining, tuning up, verify inspecting, reparing and adjusting the various systems and components on a variety of heavy-duty vehicules. They will help carry out the company's mission and keeping with its approach, values and objectives.<br><br><strong>Benefits <br><br></strong><ul><li>Group insurance after 3 months of continuous service : this includes medical, vision, long-term salary insurance, life insurance, travel insurance, telemedicine and employee assitance group</li><li>Group RRSP</li><li>pay 200$ per year for sports activites</li><li>pay 300$ peur year for tools</li><li>pay 250$ per year for safety boots and 125$ per year for work pants.</li><li>3 weeks on vacation</li></ul><br><strong>MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br><ul><li>Review work orders and discuss the work required with service advisors or supervisors.</li><li>Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of bus systems, including the chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and powertrain, fuel system, air brakes and hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems.</li><li>Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of heavy-duty truck systems, including structural, electrical and brake systems.</li><li>Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer?s performance specifications.</li><li>Inspect and test mechanical units, including engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.</li><li>Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.</li><li>Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.</li><li>Test (check for and detect faults) and adjust units to specifications to ensure proper performance.</li><li>Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups</li><li>Complete reports to record problems and work performed.</li><li>Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of new vehicles.</li><li>Share ideas for improvement with department personnel</li><li>Help meet departmental profit targets</li><li>Support the collective efforts of the department and the company as a whole</li><li>The incumbent may be required to take on other responsibilities within their skill set as needed or at the request of their immediate supervisor.</li></ul> <br> <strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong><br><ul><li>Completion of vocational program or certificate in diesel mechanics or on-road heavy-duty vehicle mechanics. Certificate 310T</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in diesel mechanics or on-road heavy-duty vehicle mechanics</li></ul><br><strong>ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS</strong><br><ul><li>Independent, versatile and motivated worker</li><li>Good communication skills</li><li>Ability to work within a team</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Customer service oriented</li></ul><br><strong>SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE</strong><br><ul><li>Knowledge of diesel vehicle mechanics</li><li>Ability to read technical documents</li><li>Certification to handle refrigerants</li></ul>
