Date : June 3, 2024 <p> Position : PYP Curriculum Coordinator <p> Company/Operational Area: S enpaqcin School <p> Location : Oliver B.C <p> Job Description :<p> Seeking a dynamic individual with experience of IB PYP Programme leadership in a First Nations environment, and a commitment to excellence through a caring, personalized and effect approaches to learning.The position is in a highly unique, rural school setting school in the Southern Okanagan Valley. The PYP Coordinator is a senior member of staff who works closely with all members of the school team to coordinate, lead and ensure effective curriculum planning and recording in alignment with the schools vision and mission statements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working with the pedagogical leadership team to implement the schools Strategic Plan and the development of policies and procedures for the effective implementation of the IB PYP programme.<p> Gathering evidence of schools achievements to lead school through a successful PYP External Evaluation process.<p> Leading the PYP curriculum to guide the learning at the school ensuring a balanced programme of inquiry.<p> Creating effective systems and structures for documenting the history of the programme of inquiry.<p> Helping classroom teachers to design, prepare, implement, reflect, evaluate, and report learning experiences that align with BC Curriculum and the IB PYP curriculum framework.<p> Collaborating with and motivating teachers to share new ideas, approaches, and professional knowledge.<p> Leading the learning in Information Communication Technology (ICT) at the school. <p> Contributing to the extra-curricular programmes offered within the school environment particularly leadership roles within the school for student agency.<p> Collaborating with the Okanagan Language Team to integrate First Nations Language and Culture into the program of inquiry and daily instructional practice where applicable.<p> Understanding and implementing trauma informed strategies to support the emotional health of student population. Minimum Qualification Requirements : B.C. Teacher Regulation Branch Certification<p> Previous successful experience as a PYP Coordinator<p> IB PYP Workshop Training such as the Role of the Curriculum Coordinator or Leading the Learning in Primary Years<p> Experience working in a First Nations school environment a strong asset<p> Willingness to learn the Okanagan Language alongside students. Other Related Employment Information : Candidate must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with others, is a solution-based problem solver, and has strong organization skills. <p> Start Date <p> August 26, 2024 <p> Work Days <p> Monday to Friday <p> Hours of Work <p> 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on site work hours dependent on contract duties <p> Term of Employment <p> September 2024 June 30th 2025 (plus school year 2025 renewal) <p> Pay Rate <p> Based on School District 53 Salary grid <p> Deadline for Applications <p> June 21, 2024 <p>
