Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the School Psychologist works collaboratively with the Student Services Team, school personnel, parents and other clinical disciplines to provide a comprehensive range of psychological services to Nursery to Grade 12 students including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, consultation and recommendations. QUALIFICATIONS Masters Degree in School Psychology with appropriate supervised clinical experience <p> Valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate (or eligibility for) <p> Successful completion of formal training in psycho-educational assessments<p> Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective organizational and computer skills; and the ability to meet multiple deadlines<p> Strong clinical skills and a broad knowledge base in child and adolescent development, cognitive processes, mental health, school and community systems, learning, and behaviour disorders<p> Experience working with students who have a broad range of exceptional needs.<p> Experience working with Indigenous communities and using culturally affirming approaches preferred<p> Training in Threat Assessment/Trauma Informed Care would be an asset<p> Valid Manitoba Drivers license and ability to travel. <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <p>The successful candidate will provide a broad range of school based psychological services including but not limited to: Conducts and interprets psychoeducational assessments of students related to learning, social, emotional and or behavioural difficulties<p> Works collaboratively with school staff and parents to identify and develop support for student needs<p> Participates in Student Support team meetings to provide recommendations related to learning strategies, interventions and/or specialized programming<p> Prepares and submits written reports in accordance with division timelines<p> Liaises with outside agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student planning and intervention<p> Forwards referrals to outside agencies in consultation with school personnel and/or the Student Services team <p> Works with the Student Services Team to facilitate professional learning for school staff and parents<p> Provides support with Threat Assessment, Crisis Response, and/or Tragic Events, as needed<p> Maintains confidentiality in accordance with professional guidelines.<p> Adheres to Frontier School Division policies.
