*Established and Dynamic Performing Arts College Seeking a Managing Director*
We are seeking a business-oriented candidate to manage and lead our not-for-profit college. We have a strategic map, a long-range vision, and seek a leader to collaboratively move us forward.
Founded in 1998, the Canadian College of Performing Arts has over 850 alumni who have successfully entered the industry. Uniquely focused training programs have brought hundreds of artists together in collaboration as coaches, educators and trainers. Located in Victoria BC, but national in scope and ambition, the College offers a rare gateway for the right individual to guide the work of emerging artists in the professional performing arts industry.
Our record speaks for itself. The real test was the remarkable staying power demonstrated in the financially devastating years of 2020 to 2022, surviving COVID with pure grit, careful financial management and determination. The College proved resilience, breaking box office and sponsorship records in 2022 with _Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat_, being awarded the Lieutenant Governor?s Arts and Music Award, and named one of Canada?s Top Acting Schools by Casting Workbook.
As the Managing Director, you will lead a synergetic staff and an incredible faculty, and liaise with an outstanding alumni and talented eager students. The Managing Director, while the senior manager, will work closely with the Director of Education and support her role in educational decision-making.
To be successful, you will:
* need experience in strategic planning, developing practical tactics for successful outcomes
* present realistic performance measures and identifiable risks accompanied with mitigating solutions
* drive successful development/fundraising efforts
* build a donor and stakeholder base to ensure long-term financial growth
* have human resources experience at a senior level
* show a proven ability to develop/implement a strategic I.T. vision
Familiarity with performing arts or education is an asset, but most importantly, a collaborative leader with a good common sense business reputation is required.
Our website, www.ccpacanada.com, provides a full overview of the college, its status in the artistic educational sector, and remarkable history. All of our students graduate equipped with excellent training to embark on careers, and alumni find work in all roles in the entertainment industry locally, nationally, and internationally.
_The College is committed to upholding the values of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) in our living, learning, and work environments. Consistent with those values, the College is committed to establishing an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment for all. We know that we all share responsibility for creating an equitable, diverse, and inclusive community. In pursuit of our values, we seek members who will work respectfully and constructively with differences and across levels of power._
