Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: On-site customer service. Service. Repair. Maintenance. Machinery installation. Troubleshooting. Overhaul. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Welding experience. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Service attachments and working tools. Perform other routine maintenance. Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Estimate costs and materials. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Installing machinery and equipment.
