INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POSTING <p>BLUEWATER DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD <p>INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR TEMPORARY SUMMER SCHOOL OFFICE STUDENT SUPPORT The Summer School Office Student Support is responsible for a number of key aspects of the summer school program. Working with the Student Success/Program Coordinator and Student Success/Program Assistant and central staff, they help set up the school by working on student registration, tracking attendance, purchasing supplies, and supporting the coordinator, assistant coordinator and teachers with office related tasks. A great amount of time is dedicated to course registration, preparing class lists, and tracking students as they work towards their credits as well as preparing report cards and end of school tasks. REPORTS TO: Summer School Coordinator <p>COMMENCING: May 13, 2024 and ending August 16, 2024<p>REMUNERATION: $18.55 per hour<p>LOCATION: Bluewater District School Board Education Centre, Chesley, and East Ridge Community School, Owen Sound<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Office management and assistance supporting the summer school coordinator, and the Student Success/Program Coordinator or Student Success/Program Assistant with a variety of tasks;<p> Track attendance and attendance follow-up;<p> Assistance with program registration, enrolment, and maintaining student records in confidence;<p> Communicate effectively with students, clients, staff, administration, and the general public and assist with inquires as they arise;<p> Purchase and manage resources; and,<p> Perform other duties as assigned.ASSETS: Experience using Office 365, Microsoft Suite;<p> Strong communication skills; and,<p> Ability to manage multiple tasks.JOB REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have student status, and currently be enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation;<p> Students must be 15 years old and have not reached the age of 25 upon commencement of employment (proof of student enrolment must be provided to the employer);<p> The student must be a resident of Ontario during the period of employment and should be living in Ontario at the time they start work;<p> Student must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must have a Social Insurance Number;<p> Access to a reliable vehicle;<p> Clean vulnerable sector police check;<p> Eligible to work in Canada; and,<p> A valid drivers license. <p>APPLICATION PROCESS: <p>Qualified applicants are invited to apply for this position online using Apply to Education (ATE) at https://bwdsb.simplication.com/ Please include a cover letter, references and permission to check references.We thank everyone for applying, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Questions regarding this posting should be directed to:Kim Harbinson <p>Learning Services Administrator Student Services<p>Kim_Harbinson@bwdsb.on.caEquity <p>Bluewater District School Board is committed to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.
