Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Tasks: Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Conduct surveys and monitoring programs of the natural environment. Establish and implement policies and procedures. Collect samples of materials for analysis. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses. Initiate enforcement procedures to fine or close an establishment. Manage training and development strategies. Oversee the analysis of employee data and information. Oversee development of communication strategies. Develop and implement health and safety plans. Oversee the preparation of reports. Advise senior management. Respond to employee questions and complaints. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations. Supervision: 11-15 people. 16-20 people. Type of inspection and investigation: Workplace. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
